An emblematic representation of the enduring pull between tradition and creativity

Deng Reminiscence is not just a product, but a story. At first glance, it's a sculpture – an intriguing 3D model rendered in Blender, presenting a light bulb on the verge of being pulled into the depths of history. Yet, there's more to it. On a closer look, it reveals itself as a tale of growth, self-realization, and an intertwining of past and present.

The base, modeled after the desks used by Chinese elementary students, grounds the piece in a history rich with tradition and culture.

Emerging from this symbol of childhood and education is a light bulb, suspended by an upside-down L-shaped rod.

Yet, the cord, which appears to be fluidly pulling and warping the light bulb, serves as a stark reminder: while we may be drawn towards enlightenment and modernity, the roots of our tradition always exert a powerful pull.
